Malcolm established Flick Switch in 2008. After more than 20 years freelancing in the film, television, theatre and live events industries, his experience spans a range of disciplines including lighting, audio, staging, camera, and of course rigging, which is his passion. He is a fully qualified rigger, and has honed his skills in rigging design and execution over many years. Malcolm’s approach is to thoroughly plan and prep, then execute with the highest level of safety and efficiency.

Beyond this, Mal has many years experience negotiating with stakeholders from all levels of the industry, including management, production, engineering and operators. He is just as comfortable in a production meeting for the largest TV production, as he is hanging from a harness 30m in the air. His strong business acumen ensures his eye is always on your budget, without compromising your creative vision.
